The short version
We collect what you type into our forms, and nothing else. We use it to reply to you and to consider your application. We do not sell it, we do not pass it to anyone outside the Academy, and we do not use it to advertise to you. We delete it on a schedule, and sooner if you ask.
What we collect
From the application form: your name, an email address or a phone number, and whatever else you choose to fill in, including where you live, what you have studied, why you want to study here, and, if you ask to be considered for a funded place, your description of your circumstances. From the contact form: your name, your contact details, what kind of enquirer you are, the language you would like a reply in, and your message. We do not ask for anything we do not need in order to answer you.
What we do not collect
We do not use cookies, and we do not track you across other websites. Our visitor statistics are anonymous and set nothing on your device, which is why this site has no cookie banner. We do not store your IP address: our defence against automated form submissions hashes it together with the date and a secret, keeps the result for two days, and then deletes it, so the record cannot be turned back into an address or used to work out who visited.
Who can see it
The Academy’s admissions team. What you write in the funded-place section is read by the admissions team and by the scholarship committee, and by nobody else. Our website runs on Vercel and our database is hosted by Neon in the European Union; our email is sent through Resend. Those companies process the information on our instructions and for no purpose of their own.
How long we keep it
If you are not offered a place, we delete your application twelve months after that decision. If your application never reaches a decision, we delete it after three years. Enquiries and messages are deleted after two years. If you are offered a place, your record becomes a student record and is kept under the Academy’s student records policy. A scheduled job does the deleting; it is not a promise somebody has to remember to keep.
Children
Our flagship programme is for students aged seventeen and over who have completed secondary school. If you are under eighteen, please apply with the knowledge of a parent or guardian, and tell us so on the form. We will ask for their agreement before we go further.
Your rights
Write to us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, or delete it. We will not ask you why. If you would rather your application were removed after you have sent it, that is enough of a reason on its own.
